New Music from V.I.P. Mass Choir feat. John P. Kee “Live In Miami”

New York, NY – The Victory in Praise Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir (V.I.P.) and Pastor John P. Kee unite for a seventh project, LIVE IN MIAMI, being released September 2. The 12 track CD features Fred Hammond (“The Glory”); Lowell Pye (“Yes We Can” and “I’m Covered”) and Nikki Ross (“Our God”) in addition to Earnest Pugh (“Just For Me”), LeJuene Thompson (“Favor”) and many other extraordinary voices handpicked by the one-of-a-kind John P. Kee who helmed production of the CD.

John P. Kee and Lowell Pye trade lead vocals on the celebratory “I’m Covered” as well as the encouragingly upbeat first single “Yes We Can,” which boldly proclaims ‘it’s gonna get better / it’s gotta get better / we can make a difference/ yes we can.’ “There is so much hurting and suffering in the world, that the only way not to be overwhelmed by it is to know that you are doing something about it,” says Pastor Kee, who himself is consistent in waging war against injustices, trials and tragedies however he can.

Fred Hammond’s rich baritone soars on “The Glory,” a lively track that finds Hammond ushering listeners into worship as only he is gifted to do. Nikki Ross’ angelic voice exalts on “Our God” while Earnest Pugh flawlessly extols God’s virtues on “Just For Me.”

A distinguished pastor, vocalist and Grammy winning producer, John P. Kee is a leader in urban Gospel music and has contributed to the genre for decades. Kee is a multiple Stellar and Dove Award winner and in 2007 was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame.

Posted: November 27, 2006

An intimate crowd of family members, friends, and industry associates (such as Andrea Williams, Tehillah Enterprise; Marlin Gregory, MTV; Teresa Turner, Heaven 1580; Kendall King (Artist), Keith Williams (Artist); and John Tillery (Artist) gathered this past weekend to celebrate Earnest Pugh’s 40th Birthday at a private dinner in a remote location in Crofton, MD.

Well wishes and gifts were also presented on behalf of Byron Cage (Artist), Brent Jones (Artist), The Assembly, and the Ebenezer Chancel Choir.

“It was awesome to see friends and family members come together on the occasion of my big 40. We laughed, we cried, we all gave and received gifts. It was simply amazing. What’s more special is the fact that God thought enough of me to make my 40th Birthday fall on Thanksgiving Day (November 23rd). By this one thing I realize I am special to the Lord.”
